Q1: Is the Li-SOCl2 Battery rechargeable? No. This is a primary (non-rechargeable) lithium battery. It is designed for long-term, low-drain applications where recharging is impossible (e.g., embedded in a gas meter). Attempting to recharge it is dangerous.
Q2: Can I replace my Li-SOCl2 Battery with a standard AA alkaline? No. Alkaline batteries provide 1.5V and leak over time. You need two alkalines in series (3.0V) with a shorter lifespan. Our 3.6V Li-SOCl2 Battery (ER14505) matches the AA form factor but provides higher voltage (3.6V) and 10x the shelf life.
Q3: Does Vcell Power add a BMS to the Battery? For single cells, a BMS is not required. However, if you need a battery pack (e.g., 7.2V or 10.8V) assembled with these cells, we can integrate a protection circuit (PCM/BMS) against over-discharge and short circuits.
